Log Grown Mushrooms

What are log grown mushrooms?

Log-grown mushrooms are cultivated on natural hardwood logs rather than in climate-controlled buildings or on artificial substrates. This traditional method allows mushrooms to grow slowly in outdoor forest conditions, developing rich flavor, firm texture, and complex aroma.

How do mushrooms grow on logs?

Our mushrooms are grown on hardwood logs harvested from our forest as part of our long-term Forest Stewardship Plan. Each log is drilled and inoculated with certified organic mushroom spawn, then allowed to naturally colonize for about one year. Once established, the logs are placed in our forest mushroom yard, where they fruit with the seasons and are actively managed. We harvest fresh mushrooms weekly, selling them directly to customers and carefully drying a portion for our dehydrated and powdered mushroom products.
