What’s Happening on the Farm This July

July is shaping up to be a beautiful month on the farm, and we are looking forward to offering a mix of simple drop-in experiences, special evenings, and seasonal events to enjoy during farm store hours and beyond. Some of these experiences are designed to be casual and easy to stop in for, while others require advance registration so we can prepare for everyone attending. Whether you are visiting to shop, enjoy the garden, learn something new, or spend a peaceful evening outdoors, there are several opportunities to visit the farm this month.

Our farm store will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 4–8 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 12–4 PM at 457 Willow Grove Road in Elmer, New Jersey. During regular farm store hours in July, visitors can stop in to make their own lavender sachet. Each sachet is $6 and includes all supplies. No ticket or registration is required for the sachet bar, and it will be available while supplies last. It is a simple way to enjoy a hands-on lavender experience while spending time at the farm.

We will also be offering a limited number of U-pick lavender sessions during July. These sessions require advance registration and are a chance to harvest your own fresh lavender bundle during one of the available time slots. Because space is limited, registration is required in advance. This is always a special way to experience the farm during lavender season, and anyone interested can click through to view the available dates and times and reserve a spot.

For those who enjoy learning more about the wildlife around the farm, we will be hosting a relaxed wildlife talk on July 10 at 7 PM. During this evening, we will share the latest updates from our bluebird trail and Purple Martin colony, followed by time to watch the birds and ask questions. No ticket or registration is required for this event. It is simply an opportunity to slow down, spend time outdoors, and learn more about the birds and wildlife that are such an important part of life on our farm.

On July 16 from 4–8 PM, Peace & Prana will be at the farm offering complimentary chair, scalp, or hand massages featuring Copper Knoll Farms lavender essential oil. Massages will be offered on a first come, first served basis while time allows. No ticket or registration is required. This will be a nice opportunity to stop by, unwind a little, and enjoy a relaxing part of your visit while you are here.

We also have two special music evenings planned in the garden. Harp in the Garden will take place on July 17 from 6–8 PM with live harp music by Laura Dishong. Music in the Garden will be held on July 30 from 6–8 PM with live music by Samantha May Music. Guests are welcome to bring a chair and enjoy a peaceful evening outdoors, but RSVP is required for both events. Please note that outside food and drinks are not allowed. These evenings are meant to be simple, relaxing opportunities to enjoy the garden and music in a beautiful setting. RSVP required, click here

On Saturday, July 18 from 7–9 PM, we will be hosting An Evening with Elderberries. This event requires registration and will focus on how elderberries are grown, their benefits, and different ways to use them at home. Since elderberries are such an important part of what we grow and make here on the farm, this will be a special evening for anyone interested in learning more about them in a deeper way.

Another peaceful evening planned for July is our nature journaling night on July 23 at 7 PM. We will begin with a brief prompt to help everyone get started, and then spend time observing and drawing nature. Guests should bring a journal or sketchbook along with something to write or draw with. No experience is needed, and no ticket or registration is required. This is meant to be an easygoing evening for anyone who would like to spend a little time slowing down and paying closer attention to the natural world around them.

We will also be heading off the farm for the Night Market at Mystic Ginger on July 24 from 6–9 PM. Mystic Ginger is located at 36 South Black Horse Pike in Blackwood, New Jersey. If you are not able to make it to the farm, this is another chance to shop with us and enjoy a summer evening out.

For families, Wildlife Detectives will take place on July 26 at 12:30 PM for ages 6–12. Registration is required for this program. During this event, children will learn about the clues animals leave behind and discover more about the wildlife living around the farm. It is a fun way for children to become more aware of the animals that share the landscape with us and to look a little more closely at the signs of wildlife that are easy to miss.

We hope July offers something for everyone, whether you are coming for lavender season, a peaceful evening in the garden, a family activity, or simply a visit to the farm store. We always enjoy creating opportunities for people to experience the farm in different ways, and we look forward to welcoming visitors throughout the month.
