Lavender FAQs
What is the difference between Lavender and Lavandin?
Lavender [Lavandula Angustifolia] is known as true lavender or "English Lavender". It has a sweet, floral fragrance.
Lavandin [Lavandula x Intermedia] is also called "French Lavender". It has a stronger herbal fragrance due to the high camphor found in the oil.
Can I use Lavender or Lavandin Essential Oil on my skin?
It is recommend to dilute Lavender or Lavandin essential oil to 2-3% in a carrier oil for safe skin use. We offer pre-diluted essential oil rolls. You can shop them by clicking here.
Are all Lavender buds edible?
Lavandula Angustifolias or "English Lavenders" are best for culinary use. Lavandin or "French Lavender" are not suitable for culinary purposes due to the high camphor in the buds which gives a bitter taste.
