Do certain flowers hold some of your special memories?
Every year when our peonies bloom I’m reminded of our journey. I transplanted them here on our farm from our first home in Aldine, a town where Chester’s family has been settled for generations. We never thought we’d leave the home we spent years completely remodeling and had planned to be our forever home. I am so happy to have a small piece of it here.
The peonies were planted by the original owners of our first home. Every year I make a bouquet and take them to the family in remembrance of their mom, Vivian. I always look forward to visiting and giving them the flowers their mother loved so much.
When it came time for our wedding, I harvested my peonies and gave them to A Garden Party. They made a stunning bridal bouquet with the flowers from our home. Each anniversary I close my eyes, smell the flowers and I’m reminded of our beautiful wedding day at Chester’s family farm.
After years of trying to stay in Aldine, our search for land lead us to where we are now. While the peonies were in bloom in 2019, we found our farm and one year later, we sold our first home to a lovely family. Such a coincidence all these pivotal moments in our life happened while they were in bloom. Such a sweet reminder of so many special memories.
